Halloween in July.

Early this morning I found myself already partying!

While I was picking up Natalie started setting up the living room with stuff animals and games and stuff, I thought she was just going to play. Then she announced that she was setting up for a party. She told me that when I was done cleaning I should attend the party.

So when I was finished I went over to where she set up the entrance. Well this was no ordinary party. It was a .....................

In case you can't read her party banner, It was a Halloween Party! It included games and lots of dancing!!!!!!!!

After we danced until we dropped we decided to cool down and end the party by drawing.

She then very sweetly asked me if I had had fun? To wich I replied "Ofcourse, lots of fun!" She then said, "Good, because I did all this party for you to have fun so you wouldn't be bored!" This melted my heart because I've been bad lately. I've complained outloud constantly of how bored I've been during the day. I've complained of how I don't have a car to take them anywhere and how we have nothing to do all day.

I felt so bad that I had put that burden on her that she felt the need to make my day fun when it should be me trying to make her day fun! But also made me feel so loved and special that my daughter loves me so much that she cares about making me happy!

Birthday Boy

This past Sunday we celebrated David's 30th birthday! Yup he's not a young pup anymore. Actually he's a rare kind of species, the kind that turns 30 yet looks 18! LUCKY!

Not only does he look 18 but he feels and acts 18! He still loves to play Halo and anything that involves XBOX. He still loves buying toys. He plays basketball and volleyball better than any 18 year old. He' young at heart and I think he will always be. I guess that's a good thing because that'll keep me feeling young for years to come. Now if I can just discover his secret for looking young!

His party was great. I mean what can be better than being around family and friends and eating my mom's food!!!!!!!!!

And the get together was so good that we lingered on until 9 at nigth...........

With birthdays like this, how can you not love turning a year older!

Nobody parties like us!

What else can I say, the title says it all. Not only are hispanic people known for having great parties, but I think that my family really takes it to another level! It doesn't matter if you're turning 5 or 25, if it's a holiday, or if it's just a regular day of the week, we like to party! This past Saturday we celebrated my cousin's 25th birthday and it's a perfect example of how we really know how to party! And no matter what age you are turning we make sure you bite the cake! And he even had a clown who made the kids and adults play. Here's a taste....

In their Sunday's Best.

So this past Sunday I was very happy to have been able to finally wake up early enough to get the kids set and ready to go with plenty of time to spare. They looked so cute that I knew I had to get a shot of them in their Sunday attire. Little did I know that it wasn't going to be easy to capture the moment.

First of all I realized there wasn't a clean and orderly room to be found in our house. I couldn't find a nice clean background for our picture. Once I gave that up, our little model wouldn't cooperate with me!

His sister tried so hard to hold him in place. But nothing seemed to work! Then when I finally thought I had gotten the shot, the image was blurry!!! So I kept trying.. and trying..... until I looked over the pictures and decided that they were perfect enough. They showed exactly how cute my kids are!!

Still a little girl!

Today I got a nice reminder that Natalie is still a little girl just like any other. I found her nicely setting up her stuff animals around the couch and she read to them and played with them.

Why am I so amazed by this? Well the funny thing is that Natalie has been watching scary and action filled movies since she was 1. Yes yes, not the best and brightest thing to do. Please no hate mail or mean comments!

Her first encounter was probably at 1 when we took her with us to see The Lord of the Rings. She pretty much slept through the whole thing. Then from there on she went with us to other movies and she was such a good baby. Sitting through them and watching them. Don't get me wrong we took her to Disney movies but those kinda bored her! She preferred her good old action flicks! Then as she got older she would watch scary movies with us at home like Signs or Aliens vrs Predators. And she never had or has had nightmares or any side effect from these movies. If you ask her what her favorite movie is she'll answer Resident Evil! LOL! And her recent favorite one is The Amityville Horror movie. I'm amazed at how much she loves scary movies. Now whenever we go out to get movies she always says, "Does it have zombies in it?" or "It better be a scary one!" I have to say that it's kinda awesome to have a kid who isn't easily scared and is braver than her 10 year old cousins! Don't get me wrong. I think I probably won't let Jaime get into the same habit but for now I kinda love the fact that she's so different!

So as I looked at her play, I marveled at the fact that this little 7 year old girl can go from watching Paranormal Activity to playing teacher with her stuffed animals! She's still my little girl!

P.S. Maybe some of you won't agree with me or are even outraged at this. But oh well, to bad for you.

First Blog Ever Starts with a 4th of July Bang!

I'm so excited to finally start my blog. I had been wanting to do this for awhile now and I finally got the nerve to do it. I love love love writing and I love journaling but I hadn't done either in awhile. I'm so excited to be able to do this blog and be able to preserve so many memories and events in my family's life and to be able to share it with friends and family. The thought of being able to keep a record of all the happy and not so happy times in my life excite me.

So here it goes. It starts off with a long holiday weekend! On Saturday my sister Claudia aka Ita had invited us over to help her set up her kid's new swing set! Now just so you know we had started it since Thursday and didn't get very far. Well it turn out to be more than what we bargained for. It was quite a site to see. The end result? Well after a full day of work until the sun went down, we still hadn't finished it and a few errors were made. Some they were able to fix, others unfortunately had to remain and they had to use some creative thinking. Such in the case of them having to end up putting the swings on the opposite side that they were intended to be because of the holes being on the wrong side! Ha ha ha ha! But sadly I still haven't been able to see the finish product!

I'll be sure to give you the end result as soon as I see it finished! Even though the project wasn't finished it was another awesome day were the family had an excuse to be together and EAT ofcourse. Being that from 4 children that my parents had we have 17 grandchildren, the get togethers are never dull! I love the fact that we can find any excuse to just hang out with each other, and don't get me wrong it gets hectic at times, but we just keep coming back for more.

Then Sunday once again we were over at my mom's house to eat MOLE! Mmmmmm! And rice pudding for dessert! Or should I say Arroz con Leche! Then at night we enjoyed some fireworks! It was a perfect holiday weekend! Here's some more pictures displaying all the fun we had!
