2nd Grade!

When my Dad use to tell me all the time, "Hija el tiempo se pasa muy rapido, cuando menos acuerdas ya se paso la vida." or "Los hijos creesen muy rapido." I would just roll my eyes and say "Si pa, whatever." But I guess it's just a fact of life that when we are young we don't understand those statements to the fullest. But oh Heavenly Father truly has the perfect plan, everything is perfectly mapped out to teach us life's lessons sooner or later.

Now that I am a mother, his words truly penetrate my heart as I see my daughter going off to second grade. When did this happen? When did she grow up? When did she start walking and talking? When did she become so independent? Wasn't it yesterday that she was in Kinder garden?
Wasn't yesterday that she didn't even reach my knees? And now here she is, almost 8 years old, going into 2nd grade. How time does fly when you have kids. It's like time changes when you have them, time truly does become precious. Every second of everyday really has a different feeling and meaning.

Not only that but having kids makes you look at yourself more. Makes your age more noticeable, it's like wow I'm not a kid anymore, I'm not a teenager anymore, I'm a 26 year old mother of two. Yet it feels like yesterday that I was going to 2nd grade. That my father was going to parent teacher conferences. All our young years we're wishing to grow fast, to be able to be older. Yet now I sit here wishing I could go back. To be able to walk to the bus stop with my gramma, to eat her huevitos con jamon before going to school. But no, you know what, I don't wish to go back because now I get to see my daughter live those moments just like I did! And it's a good reminder to myself to enjoy them all to the fullest as much as I can. To not take them for granted! Because pretty soon time will fly by and I'll be sending her off to college.
And now I'm the one telling my daughter, "Hija, disfruta la vida, porque la vida se pasa rapido y cuando menos acuerdas ya se paso!"

Jaime David

I had been wanting to do this blog for awhile now but hadn't done it because I haven't been able to capture Jaimito's special Curly run. We love this run, he looks just like Curly running from the Three Stooges. And in waiting to capture that special moment I accumulated many more pictures that show just how happy Jaimelon makes us. He is just so special there's no words to describe him. He keeps us on our toes. Boys truly are a different species than girls! I mean he has me running after him and having to watch everything he does before he gets into trouble. He's a loving brother to Natalie and they have so much fun together, still they do have their fights! He never gets tired and is just like the energizer bunny, never stops going. But he always has a smile on his face! And you've never met a tougher baby than him, he can fall, trip, hit himself or anything else and he just bounces right up. Not a squeal, scream or tear! Yet he just can't seem to master sleeping through the night quite yet. Look at that smile! and he already is starting to master the Xbox control!
And forget about taking him to an arcade. He goes wild and we can't keep him off of the games!

He's always getting into everything. Into my spice rack, into the dishes and pots. He already has broken atleast 3 dishes! And he LOVES driving. If it has a steering wheel he is on it and it's a battle to get him off! He loves to eat pretty much anything and everything. If Natalie doesn't guard her food he is sure to steal it in no time! And his new thing is climbing on things. I was amazed to find him on top of such different things. How he got on top of them, I can only imagine! This one I still can't believe. I don't know how he was able to get on top of the sink!He also found a way to get into the Target ball pit! Getting him out was the tricky part! And this one just astonishes me. How the heck did he get in there! He took out all my other pots and then found a way to squish in there! And this was his latest trick! My little artist at work with a permanent marker.
I just don't know how I'm going to keep up with him, sometimes it can be tiring but it doesn't matter, it's sooooo much fun! He's such a blessing and we love him so much!

Paying to get bruised.

Yes that's exactly what my crazy hubby and I did. We paid $ to go get shot by paintballs!! But I have to say it was worth it! It was so much fun. This is our second time this summer and we're happy that we finally broke our record of going more than just one time each summer. This is our third year going. It was so much fun and I almost made it through the day without getting seriously shot, but that changed on my last game!

I have to say that I really like it. I let my inner Rambo come out. Yes I'm not very good since I really don't have a good shot, but darn it, I think I'm pretty good for a girl! LOL! I mean I have to admit that every time we go it's like the first time for me, I'm super scared and trembling in my boots. And the first game is always so nerve wrecking for me, to hear the shots going all around me. I pretty much first just run for my life and hide out. But once the initial fear calms down I start going and go trigger happy. Then from then on I feel at ease and enjoy shooting and getting shot. It's always nice to at least go home with one good bruise to show off! ;) And David loves it too. I have to admit he looks darn manly and hot in his camouflage running around and being all soldier like! All in all it was a super fun day even if I did get one to many up close and personal shots to the face!

Conquering the Dunes!

We finally found a day to go to the beach in Indiana. We love going to the dunes atleast once every summer! I love going with all my family. It's so much fun. Especially with all the little kids we have and my parents are awesome! My mom always brings the best lunches. This time we just brought tortas but they were sooooooooooo GOOD!

We set off for the dunes................

We finally reached the top..............what a view!!!

Then it was time to go down to the beach.

Lunch afterwards was also good!

We couldn't have asked for a better day. Not cloudy, not too much sun, not too humid, not too hot, yet the water was cool enough and so refreshing! Even Jaimito took a dip.......
